From the very beginning of the book, John sets the stage for the theme of belief. This theme is central and prominent as John emphasizes the importance of faith in Jesus as the Son of God and the source of eternal life. Belief in Jesus is not merely an intellectual pursuit but involves a personal commitment and trust.
